Distance Learning and Online Courses have gained popularity in recent years and are offered in a number of different formats, these include correspondence courses (by post), online via technology or a combination of online and traditional classroom instruction (this is known as blended learning). Massive open online courses (MOOCs), offering large-scale interactive participation and open access through the internet or other network technologies, is another relatively recent development in distance learning.
