Course description
The Occupational Health and Safety Technical Certificate course (Tech. Cert. OHS) is an excellent foundation course for those starting a career in health and safety. Designed for those with little or no health and safety experience, the course covers the essential technical skills and knowledge required to embrace a career in health and safety.
Successful completion will mean you satisfy the entry requirements for the higher Level 6 Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety (broadly equivalent to level 7 Ireland).
The Technical Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety course enables you to gain an understanding of health and safety practices in a working environment. It provides an insight into how to manage workplace issues and covers the areas you would encounter in a health and safety role.
LEVEL: The Technical Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety is accredited to level 3 (England) which is broadly equivalent to level 5 (Republic of Ireland) and is awarded by OTHM qualifications. OTHM are approved and regulated by Ofqual (Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation).
IOSH: Graduates of this Certificate are eligible to apply for ‘TechIOSH’ Technical membership of IOSH, Institute of Occupational Health & Safety.
Progression: Students who successfully complete the level 3, can progress to the IOSH approved Level 6 Certificate and Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety.
