A beginners step by step introduction to the art of sculpture and mould making.
Dive into the captivating world of sculpture as you are guided through each step of the process. From shaping clay into forms inspired by the wonders of the natural world, to learning the art of pouring plaster to create moulds. This course is designed for beginners who would like to develop an interest in three-dimensional expression.
Students will develop an artistic appreciation as they explore various finishes, whether it’s adding vibrant colour washes or embracing the beauty of plain plaster. Students will enhance their sculptures by perfecting the art of presentation, discovering how to mount their creations on wooden blocks. If you’re looking to explore a new medium, this course offers an enriching experience for anyone eager to unleash their creativity.
Course Day & Time: Monday evening 7.30 – 9.30

Cost: €140 (Please Note: The price includes all materials for this course. This includes Buff Stoneware clay, Fine Casting Plaster, Reeves Gouache set of 12 paints, 3 Paintbrushes, varnish & woodblocks)

Tutor: Sharon Belton
Drawing from her diverse background in sculpture, photography and education, Sharon Belton is passionate about inspiring creativity in individuals of all levels. Having studied Fine Art and Design at Dublin Institute of Technology, Sharon has shared her knowledge and skills at various secondary schools and institutions. Sharon’s skill set encompasses a wide range of techniques, from mould making using silicone and plaster, to casting in jesmonite and plaster. Her work has been featured in exhibitions such as the Royal Hibernian Academy and the Sculpture in Context at the Botanic Gardens.
