Course Description

This is a one year course designed to prepare students for a career in the sports and leisure industry, or provide a pathway to further study (PE Teaching). The course aims to encourage students to engage in a range of sports both practically and theoretically.

Certification

QQI Level 5 award in Sport, Recreation and Exercise – 5M5146.

NGB Coaching Qualifications including: GAA Foundation Coaching Award, FAI PDP 1, FAI Safeguarding.

Progression Options

After completion of an appropriate degree programme, graduates may pursue a career in P.E. teaching.

Alternatively, graduates can gain employment as Sports Coaches or in the leisure industry.

Graduates may choose this course as a progression path to gain entry into a range of specialist related physical education and sports related degree programmes in a variety of Universities and Institutes of Technology
