The course runs over 1 full day.
COURSE CONTENT
The course has 3 sections:
1 Understanding the nature of remote working;
2 Knowing how to lead a remote working team; and
3 Knowing how to provide support for remote workers.
1 Understanding the nature of remote working
- Explain the meaning of remote working
- List the benefits of remote working for the organisation and the individual
- List the potential barriers to remote working for the organisation and for the individual
2 Knowing how to lead a remote working team
- Explain the role of trust in remote working
- Describe how to develop trust when managing remote workers
- Explain the role of communication in remote working
- Describe how to communicate effectively with remote workers
- Explain the role and nature of motivation when managing remote workers
- Describe how to give effective feedback to remote workers
3 Knowing how to provide support for remote workers.
- Describe how to overcome isolation for remote workers
- Describe how to ensure health and safety of remote workers
- Describe how to provide technical support for remote working
COURSE ENTRY:
There is open entry to this course and you do not need any previous qualification to join.
QUALIFICATION – Comparable to QQI Level 5
There is no examination.
Instead participants complete a written assignment related to their role in managing remote workers to gain the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM)/City&Guilds Unit Certificate in Understanding How To Manage Remote Workers.
Duration and Times
The course runs over 1 day from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm with a break at lunchtime.
The course is delivered online in real time by the tutors.
