Step into the world of improv comedy in a fun, supportive, and welcoming environment! Whether you’re looking to perform professionally, build confidence, or just have a laugh with other creative folks, this course is the perfect place to start.

Through engaging games and exercises, you’ll explore the core principles of improvisation, including Yes, And, giving and accepting offers, and building compelling scenes. You’ll gain familiarity with improv terminology, develop quick-thinking skills, and discover how to tap into your comedic instincts.

No prior experience is necessary—whether you’re brand new to improv or looking to sharpen your skills, you’ll leave this course with newfound confidence, a stronger comedic foundation, and a great group of new connections. Improv is not just for performers—it’s an incredible tool for communication in everyday life, helping you think on your feet, actively listen, and engage more effectively in social and work environments. Get ready to challenge yourself creatively in the most enjoyable way possible!

Tutor: Derbáil Kinsella

Derbáil Kinsella is a comedy performer, writer, and educator specialising in longform improv, sketch comedy, and immersive storytelling. Her career spans Europe, North America, and Australia, with performances at The Second City and Comedy Bar Toronto.

Recently, she co-wrote, produced, and performed in the sold-out show A Sketchy Night at Sketch Fest Toronto and debuted her horror sketch comedy show Thrifted Spirits at the Scene + Heard Festival 2025 in Dublin, created under her production company, Wed&Wild Productions.

An alumna of The Second City Conservatory Toronto, Derbáil has trained with Upright Citizens Brigade, Improv Theatre Sydney, Bad Dog Theatre, Keith Johnstone, and The Stella Adler Studio. She has performed with comedy house teams at Improv Theatre Sydney, The Second City, and Bad Dog Theatre Company and is a member of Fear Us Please!, an all-female and non-binary troupe that recently performed a sold-out set at m.fest Galway.

As an educator, Derbáil has developed and taught workshops at MOB Theatre, Lower the Tone, Improv Playground Dublin, and Newscheck Comedy, sharing her passion and expertise with students of all levels.
