Facilities Management – Certificate, Diploma and Level 8

Course description

This practical programme is designed to give you the knowledge and skills to effectively and efficiently manage the facilities, property and assets in your care. Combining learning with practical examples is a hallmark of the programme. You can immediately apply it to your daily role.

The programme runs over 3 stages:

1. Facilities Management Certificate
2. Facilities Management Diploma
3. Level 8 Diploma in Management

Facilities Management Certificate (one evening per week for 19 weeks).

Topics Covered:

• Property and Assets Management;
• Project Management;
• Facilities Management in the Context of an Organisation;
• Managing Relationships and Delivering Services;
• Leadership in the FM Role;
• Solving Problems and Making Decisions; and
• Developing Yourself and Others.

Facilities Management ‘Top-Up’ Diploma (one evening per week for 16 weeks after the Certificate).

Topics Covered:

• Energy and Utilities;
• Sustainability and Environmental;
• Security;
• Costs and Budgets;
• Space Management;
• Contracts and Contractors;
• Procurement and Suppliers; and
• Induction of New Personnel

Level 8 Diploma in Management (one Saturday per month for a year excluding August).

Topics Covered:

• Developing the executive manager;
• Critical thinking and research skills in management;
• Leading project implementation;
• Leading change in organisations;
• Developing excellence in operations; and
• Building commitment to corporate vision and values

ACCREDITATION AND CERTIFICATION

All stages – Certificate and ‘Top-Up’ Diploma in Facilities Management and the Level 8 Diploma in Management – are accredited and certified by Griffin College.

ENTRY

Entry to the Facilities Management Certificate is open, and applicants do not need any previous qualifications to join the Certificate.

Direct entry to the ‘Top-Up’ Diploma is possible based on experience or existing qualifications or both

Direct entry to the ‘Level 8 Diploma is possible based on experience or existing qualifications or both

Delivery and Times

The Award and Certificate courses course run for one evening per week from 6:30 pm to 10:00 pm

The Level 8 Diploma in Management runs for 11 Saturdays – 1 per month for a year excluding August.

Each Saturday runs from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm with a break at lunchtime.

All courses are delivered online in real time by the tutors.
