Teaching, learning and service has been a consistent theme in his life over the past 40 years. He was a business teacher for 3 years in a variety of secondary schools in Dublin. He moved from there to teach computers to Post Leaving Certificate students in Dublin. He published two computing books. From there he went into management roles of Deputy Principal and Principal of two Further Education Colleges for 20 years. He also lectured Higher Diploma in Education students in Maynooth University. For several years he was also the CEO of a Vocational Education Committee (VEC) now an Education and Training Board (ETB) and was responsible for many schools and Education centres. He also has over 40 years experience in the voluntary sector volunteering for a scouting organisation, a national mental health charity and other community groups. He held senior leadership roles in these organisations for many years. He is now happily retired.
He has a passion for Personal Development and the growing evidenced-based science of Positive Psychology and its application for the betterment of all. His career in education and personal development over the past 40 years has given him a unique insight into the development needs of people. A graduate of Business, Computing and Education from University College Dublin and DIT, B.Comm, H.Dip Ed., Dip.O.Ed., AMBCS, M.Ed (specializing in Educational Psychology). He also completed an Advanced Diploma in Executive and Personal Coaching with Distinction.
