Course description
This course is for people who work or want to work in the commercial lighting industry. It centres on the DIALux EVO lighting design programme, and takes participants from the basics to the more advanced features of the programme. It also deals with energy-efficient lighting, and introduces participants to emergency lighting requirements.
Important commercial lighting skills include:
Installing and setting up DIALux EVO
Basic room design
Irregular room design
Furniture and other basic building elements
Creating models for non-standard objects
Office lighting
Industrial buildings
Car parks
Exterior lighting e.g. roadways,
Energy-saving lighting,
Dimming and lighting control – including DALI
Emergency lighting – introduction
Course Aims, Length and Entry
The course is people involved in commercial lighting – such as consultants, designers, electricians, lighting companies, architects, wholesalers and energy-efficiency companies.
It runs over 2 Saturdays from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm with a break at lunchtime.

Entry is open – no prior qualifications are required to enrol.
Certification:
Participants receive the Griffin College Certificate in Commercial Lighting Design endorsed by Engineers Ireland.
Members of Engineers Ireland qualify for CPD credit on completion of an assignment.

The course runs over 2 days from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm with a break at lunchtime.
