Description
Drogheda Institute of Further Education provides a wide range of PLC courses in the North East Region. These accredited courses are available to school leavers and adults returning to education. The college provides a high quality, comprehensive and inclusive Further Education service to the people in Drogheda and surrounding areas in co-operation with existing educational providers and industry. All students are encouraged to achieve their full potential.
Full time and part time Courses
DIFE offers a broad variety of full-time courses with 55 courses available at Level 5 and Level 6 on the NFQ (National Framework of Qualifications) across the following departments..
- Art, Design & Technology
- Business Humanities & IT
- Sports, Leisure & Tourism
- Applied Science
- Community & HealthCare.
There are currently hundreds of full time learners with an additional intake of part time learners as part of the Night School provision. Night courses take place in September and January each year.
An exciting new area that DIFE has implemented recently is industry training for local employers. This is offered under the Skills to Advance initiative. This programme offers up-skilling and re-skilling opportunities to employees in lower skilled jobs in the region. It supports and benefits employees and SMEs through education and training intervention.
