The B.Sc.Nursing (General) is a full-time four year degree offered by the Department of Nursing and Midwifery, University of Limerick in conjunction with the Health Service ExecutiveWest (Limerick, Clare and Tipperary North). On successful completion of the programme students will be able to present for registration with An Bord Altranais and practise as a Registered General Nurse (R.G.N.).
The course is designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills and attitudes required to become confident, analytical and reflective practitioners who are able to make maximum use of resources, including research, in their day-to-day practice. Graduates will be able to practice nursing, based on a sound knowledge and understanding of factors affecting the health and wellbeing of those who require care. This knowledge will be acquired through study of nursing, biological sciences, social sciences and related disciplines.
