Employment Skills Courses with National Learning Network


A past student shares their experience with National Learning Network’s range of Career Exploration and Employment Skills courses.

NLN delivers a wide range of courses that lead to a QQI Level 4 Major Award in Employment Skills in every National Learning Network Centre in the country (There are NLN centres in each county nationwide).

The purpose of this award is to enable students to develop the relevant knowledge, skill and competence in a broad range of employment and personal skills, which will help students to find and keep a job in a wide variety of sectors, or move on to further education or training

National Learning Network provides training and specialist support to people who, for a variety of reasons, may find it difficult to gain employment. Whatever your circumstances – whether you are long-term unemployed, have an illness or a disability – National Learning Network may be able to help. NLN offer over 70 different training programmes from art and cookery to computer and business skills in centres across the country. Participants can access courses in a variety of ways: in your local centre, with a local employer; or even from the comfort of your own home. All National Learning Network training programmes are funded through The Educational Training Boards or the Health Service Executive and therefore most students receive an allowance for participation.
